Looking Back on SEMA 2013

Hard to believe it’s been nearly a month since the SEMA Show wrapped up. Things haven’t slowed down around here – quite the opposite – but we wanted to take moment to recap.

We’ve said it every year prior, but this year’s show was our best yet. It’s true. Our booth design was awesome, we received outstanding feedback on some new products, the giveaways were fun, blah blah blah. But here’s the deal – what makes this show great for us doesn’t have anything to do with what we’re doing – it’s the people. Whether they’re into cars, trucks, cycles, racing, imports, hot rods, you name it – SEMA attendees are great. There’s such a positive energy at the show; everyone is there to do business and have a good time (maybe the other way around), including us!

For our merchandising team, it’s a great opportunity to get feedback on products and find out what the market wants. The guys at SEMA are never afraid to share their opinions, which helps us develop products built for the garage – or shop, or driveway, or wherever work gets done.

For our sales team – the lucky few that get to attend – they love the show because it gives them the chance to tell the Red Kap story and to connect potential customers with a distributor that’s right for them.

For our marketing team, well, we’re not really sure what they do…

The point is, we really do enjoy the interaction with attendees at SEMA. Automotive is ingrained in our history and part of what we do every day – but SEMA is where we really get to experience it. And we love it.
